What is Kickin’ The Cancer Blues?
Kickin' The Cancer Blues is a non-profit corporation born from the hearts of two cousins, Elizabeth “Liz” Bohman and Kristine Jackson. In 2006 Liz was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and in 2007 the first benevolent concert under the name “Kickin’ The Cancer Blues” was held when she needed a stem-cell transplant. From 2006 till Aug.6 2009 Liz battled, as her body resisted treatment, and Kickin’ The Cancer Blues found its purpose-- to fight for the forgotten five percent, those whose illness does not respond to treatment. Through concerts, various fund raising events and corporate sponsorship, Kickin' The Cancer Blues is able to provide financial assistance for selected individuals facing the same challenges that Liz and her family faced, as well as raise money for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Research.
